Lucy Liu (born Lucy Liu) is an American actor, voice actress as well as a director producer and singer. She's attractive and intelligent actress who inspires many Asian actors to achieve success in Hollywood. She gained fame after several popular characters in television shows. The most notable was The Ally McBeal series, where she played Ling Woo the villainous character. The actress translated her sudden fame into major screen roles in movies such as Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. The film Kill Bill Volume 1, Quentin Tarantino, she gave an outstanding performance as Japanese criminal O-Ren Ishii. Around this same time she appeared in box-office flops like Rise: Blood Hunter. In the following years, she started to voice prominent characters in animated films, such as Kung Fu Panda and Tinker Bell. Mia Mason's role on the small screen as a character in Cashmere Mafia did not produce the desired results. The role she played in the critically acclaimed police drama Southland has helped her regain recognition as an established actress. Liu selects her roles with utmost care so as to avoid being typecast in a competitive industry. While she's very proud of her ethnicity, she does not let it limit her imagination.
