Allison Chinchar, a CNN and HLN meteorologist with CNN and HLN. She is frequently featured on CNN's 'New Day Weekend' and HLN's 'Weekend Express', as well as CNN International shows. She was meteorologist for local stations on the air in Atlanta, Nashville and Chattanooga before joining CNN. She covered hurricanes and blizzards along with flooding and wildfires, and received an Emmy for the coverage she provided of Dorian. Dorian that struck the Bahamas in the year 2019. She also covered an event known as the Super Tornado Outbreak of April 2011, where more than 350 tornadoes hit on the Southeastern United States in just four days. More than 200 of those on April 27th in a single day. With her expertise in the field of environmental science, she's also reported on volcanoes, earthquakes and natural disasters along with the stories of climate change. Chinchar is a graduate of the Bachelors of Science with a major in Atmospheric Science. She graduated from The Ohio State University. She is a member of the American Meteorological Society, the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society as well as the National Weather Association, and the International Association of Broadcast Meteorology.
