Selena Gomez

Selena Marie Gomez (/s@/li:n@Gomez/s@-LEE-n@/GOH-mez on July 22, 1992) was an American actor, singer and producer. Gomez started her acting career with the television show for children called Barney & Friends (2002-2004). As a teenager Gomez gained fame for her performance as Alex Russo in the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (1907-2012). Gomez is also part of the television series Another Cinderella Story (2008) and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie 2009, Ramona and Beezus (2010) and Spring Breakers 2012, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016). In 2019, she'll appear in The Dead Don't Die (2018). Gomez was also the voice of Mavis in Hotel Transylvania's movie franchise between 2012 and 2022. Gomez via July Moon Productions, executive produced 13 Reasons Why (2017-2022) and Living Undocumented (1919). Additionally, she executive produces and is a star in the HBO Max cooking series Selena + Chef (2020-2022) and the Hulu mystery comedy series Only Murders in the Building (2021-present). Gomez has been praised for her work and was awarded nominations for an award such as a Golden Globe Award. She has also been awarded the Primetime Emmy Award for producer. Gomez has released three albums in her former group, Selena Gomez & the Scene All of them made it to the top 10 of the US Billboard 200 and were certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA): Kiss & Tell (2009), A Year Without Rain (2010), and When the Sun Comes Down (2011). Her first solo album, Stars Dance (2013), topped the U.S. Billboard 200, and its leading single "Come and Take It" reached the top 10 spots on the US Billboard Hot 100. Gomez has released Revival (2015) as her second studio album. It debuted at the top spot in the US and was later certified platinum. Three top-ten US songs were recorded from Revival: "Good for You" and the "Same Old Love" single and "Hands to Myself". The third album of her studio, Rare (2020), made her the third consecutive album to reach number one album in the US and featured the lead single, "Lose You to Love Me" was her debut top-ten hit across the US and Canada. In 2021, she debuted the Spanish-language EP Revelacion that she received a nomination for the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album. The singer has been recognized with numerous awards and was named Billboard's Woman of the Year in 2017 and also broke 15 Guinness World Records. Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2020. Gomez is a social media influencer and is the most-followed musician and actress on Instagram. Gomez is also involved in makeup, handbag, and fragrance. Since she was 17 years old, she has been an UNICEF ambassador and has also been involved with numerous charities.
